Omar advised Aracruz following the significant losses caused by exotic derivatives, which was one of the most significant and well known casualties of the currency crisis that resulted in the sale of the company to Votorantim. Omar advised Aracruz on restructuring and minimizing losses with counterparties and banks, coordination of team preparing management and regulatory reports to CVM’s (Brazil SEC), financial reports (in BR GAAP and US GAAP) and special managerial reports to the Board and Private Equity Investors.
